Regarding the recent announcement that there would be half as many Playstation 2s shipping on October 26th than originally expected (its now at 500,000 when it was originally 1 million), THQ had this to say, or something:

Farrell [Brian Farrell, President and CEO] explained, "Our plan has always been to launch only one PlayStation 2 title, Summoner, this year, in conjunction with the Oct. 26 launch, and Red Faction, the first of many additional PlayStation 2 titles, early in 2001."

He added, "From the beginning, our expectation was that sales of games for the PlayStation 2 would account for less than 5 percent of THQ's revenue for this year's fourth quarter. Accordingly, our expectations for THQ's fourth-quarter performance are unchanged as a result of Sony's revised launch schedule, nor do we currently anticipate any impact on THQ's outlook for 2001."
