Ok , team , 6th may we will make a texturers chat . 3pm as usual.

Everyone with Truespace should come there.
If you are familiar with TS , teach the others . If you have questions or simply wanna learn stuff about TS come there .
There are things I could show you . There are things I need someone to explain them to me.

So , guys , please come !

I STILL can't texture well. I can use tiled textures, but now the unwrapper or that crap.

But I've got TS, can I join?

If you don't try , then you will cry.

Especially people who have no idea about TS should come in particular.

The intention of the chat is to introduce all Truespace-owners to the program so we can have 10 and not 2 people texturing the vessels .

If everything goes well we will have 10 people or so , all of them able to texture a vessel within a week.

Look I textured the atmshuttle in 2 days.
There are about 60 ships/objects to go . If we succeed no one has to texture more than 6 vessels . Well, lets say a week for each ship. 2 months for all remaining ships ?
That's a quite optimistic view of the world , isn't it ? Personally I think we are lucky when we have all the vessels textured in half a year . That is possible !

Remember , all texturers will work together. If you have questions or found an easy way to do something , we have our forum(s) and ICQ.

This is our first REAL attempt to do something against this lack of texturers. We are enough ! Lets get this mod done !!!

We do but nobody reads the internal forum. I claim it to be because there's no link anywhere, but its super secret so I can't tell anyone =). We also have a mailing list, but we'll have to discuss this at a meeting.

I had a good go at it in an hour last night Eternal....i learned how to select per face....use the different types of UV map...seelct the texture type.........i know theres lots more but im getting there.....i used the box with all the vlaues in it to alter the UV window as well so im getting there

Eternal thinks it takes a month because he has problems with explaining things. Well , if you have to find out alone how to texture this will take you a while , but with the right guidance I say showing the other guy the basics takes a few hours . White and I had a two hour lesson yesterday , one or two more and he will know everything I do also know . If we do this altogether at the chat ( and perhaps people stay so they get everything - I said chat has open end !!!) it won't take much time to initiate them all.

And besides , I do explain things better than you. If I only had your skills I could hold the chat alone. So , please come ET1 and get Modeth , we need some profi expertice there.

Eternal 1 we are talking about texturing only. I believe there are many advanced features that we will learn over time but for basic "lets get down to texturing and produce some results" i think i will be able to given a few more hours tutorial. Sullar is not advanced but he managed to texture the shuttle this is the level of texturing ability im talking about. As the bluetones once said:

"You may not see things my way but I dont care cos I'm not asking, but you cant tell me that i'm wrong"

Actually, you shouldn't use atm shuttle as an example. Skullar did do it in 2 days, but he didn't do any art because it was already done by Wingnut. Plus, he used 9 texture maps when the order was to use 2 for lod0. Plus that he didn't design any lower lod maps nor debris maps. I've been had to refine it and do the work he didn't do.

There's a huge difference in "texturing" and "texturing properly". That's what I'm saying, and you'll understand when you start the job. You'll see.

texture maps for other lods ?
No wonder we don't get anything done. Most of us would texture properly but can't , and the few who can don't tell the others .

Well Eternal , next sunday will be a busy day for you

You never told me something like aditional maps for other lods or debris maps ,
I could have made some , but I heard something like "not more than 2 maps" and I had already 9.

Now I a fed up with people telling me my work is crap. Ok , it is , but either you will come to the chat , STAY and teach us all you know ( and even if this takes DAYS ) or you can texture the remaining 60 vessels on your own .

Thsi is for you , Eternal , and Modeth . And for Bobbeau . Your main goal should be to teach all the others how to texture instead of making some models and hope we others learn it with the time being.

Damned !

Except this texturing tutorial at Volitionwatch there is still nothing of value for us all.

It may be possible for me to come there but there's one problem.

I probably need to use my parents computer because they don't even know that in my own computer has a modem in it. So I use it secretly and cannot use my computer if I can come to the texturer chat.

One thing is that I could be there and save the log and try to look from that and learn different things... but I don't know yet. I'll let you know...
