Mission Cutscenes etc.

I read cpt. white's news update on cutscenes and you mentioned severed (not shattered) dreams and the minbari war. If you're starting to work on them again you can use my captures. I offered them a few months ago on the old board but I guess nothing ever happened.

They're all either bink or divx, 320x240 30fps. The video quality is usually pretty good, but the sound isn't too good. You can hear a high pitched noise, esp. on good speakers. I have almost all battles from the 2nd season and some from 3, 4, and 5 including severed dreams. I don't really have anything from the minbari war though. I used to have more but my HD crashed.

If you want to download them I can set up a hotline server for a few days. All my capt's combined take up a little over a gigabyte and I have cable and I can upload at about 300k/sec.

I also might be able to do some animations for you. I just started cgi so they're not great. I'll put a few on my hotline server.

I got a ton:

202 revalations
209 coming of the shadows
211 all alone in the night
212 acts of sacrifice
214 and now for a word
222 the fall of night (sorry no narn-shadow attack ep, HD crash)
301 matters of honour (both battles)
310 severed dreams
315 interludes and examinations (very cool vorlon shadow battle!!)
318 walkabout (lost shadow dancing)
406 into the fire
407 epiphanies (black omega-starfury battle)
415 no surrender no retreat
417 the face of the enemy (good battle)
(lost shadow omega battle and endgame)
505 a view from the gallery
510 a tragedy of telepaths (Black Omega w/Byron destroy ea transport)
515 meditations on the abyss
(no fall of centari prime)
523 sleeping in the light

Most are in bink so I'll put up radgametools on my server or you can get it from www.radgametools.com . Some are also in DivX.

Is Cpt. White in charge of cutscenes etc. ?

If you can set those up somewhere and send me an email I can make sure they find their way to a server where anyone on our staff can get to them.

Thanks for the help..

I think it would be great to have some ingame cutscenes of battles, just drop the player in a ship that can't move, and have a set of scripted events to watch.

If i had a high speed connection i would warmly accept them but i aint going to download 1Gb of movies on a 56k modem!!!!

We're not sure what we're going to do regarding ani's yet as they could easly double the download size (your looking at about 10Mb (zipped) for a decent 30-40seconds scene that has about 450 frames.

My idea is to release new ones with every pack we bring out making the lump of data a bit easier to swollow....for example the demo will be using 4 movies (fingers crossed) 1 for each of the planned missions. But im not sure as to whether this will continue. We're talking about putting together a set of "Generic" movies that arent to specific and so can be used in a number of situations....

So anyway your movies are not really that useful to me but thanks for the offer if you think you can make your own movies though then im interested and will appreciate that I already recuited 2 ppl to make movies..Zoltan and Rictor but you can never have to many... movies should be this format for me to convert

440 width 200 height 12fps

200-450 frames long (for clips) if its a repeating clip (ie ship rotating etc then frame amount can be <200 but 450 is the absolute max)

make them AVI using mpeg v3 compression at 75% smoothness/crispness (default) and Kb/sec MAX (6000)
