UltorCorp, that all-in-German RF fansite we all love, has posted an interview with Alan Lawrance, Lead Designer (hey! I got that right too!). Luckily, the interview is all-in-English, so its easy for us non-German speakers to read. Its a pretty good interview, here's a snip:

Q: What are the main influences for RF?

A: The story and consistent design of Half-Life was definitely an influence. After we started developing the story and game, we saw some similarities between RF and the movie Total Recall. This has influenced the game somewhat since then, for example the inspiration for our driller vehicle comes from the drilling machine in Total Recall.

Unfortunately they spelled his last name wrong, kind of like everyone else does, so not much to complain about there... But they still lose 5 points :P
