A new build of Red Faction was also on display with its destructible terrain. There were several test levels on display showing off the vehicles and terrain deformation. For those who don't know, Red Faction's engine allows you to literally shoot your way through a level. Stuck behind a broken door? No more running around trying to fix generators; just pull out your rocket launcher and blow a hole in the wall! Also, the effect caused by shooting glass has been revamped, with one pistol shot putting a small hole in the glass, another creating a large ragged hole and shattering the glass and finally a third making the it all fall to the floor. Saying that, a great physics engine does not a good game make. The AI still needs some work with enemies occasionally running all the way up next to you before opening fire.
