Ship class name needed

Does anyone have any suggestions for a name for a Terran Installation? I have finished this MOD completely, but am always stumped for a name that fits in FS2. Right now, I'm calling it -Project Thespis-.

I don't like Thespis, and need a new name, please help!

Hmmm...(looks for some Greek/Roman names...)

How about GTI Andromeda ?

Andromeda has been done, but thank you anyway. Mad Bomber gave me the name:

GTI Scylla

I like it,(me being of Sicilian descent had nothing to do with it ) and I am going to use that.

I will post a pic, but am not sure when I want to post this installation.

Dark, if you read this:

Thank you for creating a model for me to finish!

That's better than 'Andromeda'

Honestly people, how is crap like that actually thought of as acceptable? (no offense Ulysses)

Let's all go to the GTI 'Cheesy Gene Roddenbery Star Trek Wannabe Show of the Same Name of the Proposed FS Installation' while we're at it

Now back to names, Scylla's good, but Semnai, Krypis, Amalthia, and similar names would also work just as well.

You don't know who Andromeda originally was, do you?

And what's this "Cheesy Gene Roddenbery Star Trek Wannabe Show of the Same Name" then? I've never heard of it (probably 'cause I'm in the UK...)

How about the Yggdrasil?

Oh wait, I'll just use it instead.

Makes more sense than Scylla, in my opinion.

Anyhow, look around www.pantheon.org for loads of good names.

1)I certainly don't

2)He was making a reference to the sci-fi series "Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda", in which a ship of the same name is trapped in a black hole for 300 years. I've seen it once or twice, and yes it is cheesy.

I thought the first episode was setting up for something great but so far the series hasn't taken off. I thought that about Earth Final Conflict tho and a couple years later I know that the more recent episodes are awesome. It needs some time I think.

I have a not-very-high opinion of E:FC. I think Roddenberry's best shows were the Star Treks, except for DS9, which was stupid since almost everything was done on DS9 and not in space.

As for the answer to the question, yes I know who Andromeda was, however her name is over used and cliched.

The show Andromeda however from what I've seen is not a case of a show such as Babylon 5 where there was a clear begining, middle, and end and the show simply needed time to asert itself.

The show is done via committee, and the plot concepts being done are extremely cliche and poor. (I'm sorry the set design and costumes seem more like "space pirates" and though science fiction is more "fiction science" I do hope that serises can at least pretend to do their homework...)

Snipes, if you want to have us give you a name please give us a description of the thing.

One thing I noticed about FS and FS2 is that they give names to ships improperly except for perhaps the Erinyes - Erinyes are the spirits of vengeance in Greek Mythology; apt name for the ship in question.

They should do more homework there and make it more interesting than just giving kewl names to odd ships. And I'd suggest this to anyone who wants to create new ship types. I'd be willing to help.
