Summoner: The Prophecy has been officially announced. What is The Prophecy? Its the name of Summoner 2 on the GameCube so those of us with GameCube's can finally experience the game on our favorite console.

Two previews that I know of right now. The first is from IGN. Has a whole slew of 20 or so screen shots.

The second preview is from GameSpot. Details some brief information and has a few screen shots although the full size versions don't seem to be broken right now.

The Prophecy is essentially the same game as it was for PS2 plus enhancements for the GameCube platform. These appear to be visual enhancements to take advantage of the faster GameCube processor.

Also of note is the fact that the port (which is such a nasty word) is being done by Cranky Pants Studios. Apparently these guys are formerly from Nintendo and were involved with the GameCube system in the first place so lets hope they use that extra talent and get us some fantastic results.

I'm hopeful. Release date is supposed to be Q2 2003.

I've seen those pictures at IGN, and I must say the game is looking good. Maia's face looks a bit weird though...Like it's flat or something. :-\

does anyone know if summoner 2 is going to be released for PC?? I have played summoner so many times now I'm sick of it!!
