Concerning Brakiri Avionik weapons
I watched "Shadow Dancing" today, and there isn't any Brakiri seen firing.
In one screne it looks like an Avionik firing an orange beam, but if you look carefullly, you see the the beam comes from a Drazi ship in front of the brakiri. With in front I mean between the Avionik and the camara so to say, which would be to the right of the Avionik.
I write this, someone made the brakiri firing orange, and because I don't remember the threads name it would take a hell of a lot time to find it.
I think this thing is called Avioki!
And you're right, I can't remember seeing any of those ships firing in the show, so we can only imagine, how it's armed!
In one of the movies I think it was ACTA, in the battle with the drahk one is seen firing some sort of beam weapon.

Ive lent my friend b5 season 3 & 4 so i cant confirm that at the minute. I am sure that you do see it fire in one of the episodes, how about when the shadows start attacking Brakiri Space?

Im sure i seen the Brakiri H cruiser firing some of its weapons in one of the episodes. Ill have to look into that one
What's confirmed is that Avioki does have one pulse and one beam weapon in both it's wings. If it does have more weapons, we haven't seen Avioki using them.
Howewer, I'd bet TBP version would have something like one light beam in it's wings facing forward and one medium pulse turret in upper and bottom side of the wings. So two light beams and four medium pulse turrets.

My concept for the Avioki was this:
Two types of primary weapons in the obvious weapon locations on the far edge of the wings.
The inboard set would be a rapid fire medium pulse cannon with sufficient firepower to hurt capital ships and fighters alike. The Brakiri use their vessels primarily as trade ships and then second as warships in a pinch so it has to be flexible here without disrupting too much of the ships other abilities.
The outboard set are the pinkish/red beams seen in A Call to Arms which would be probabily similar in ability to the EA's X-Ray laser commonly seen on the Omega and Midwinter. Firepower would be more consistent with the Midwinter class.
Overall this would give the Avioki sufficient power to take on raiders and go up against other competitors like the Drazi. An Avioki would, as I imagine, not be able to specifically stand up to a EA Heavy Cruiser like the Midwinter and certainly not against the vast array of abilities the Omega class demonstrates.
But then neither of those vessels are designed as long range trade and diplomatic ships either.

I'm not sure about this, but considering the number of ships involved in the engagemtns in "Thirdspace", that might be a good place to look for Brakiri weapons types. Unfortunately, it's not out on DVD yet, but I may have a taped TV copy lying around somewhere. I'll have to do some serious scrounging to find that.
Later!

The Brakiri were not involed in that engagement. Only B5s fighters, nials, whitestars and sharlins were there. In the Coriana 6 battle just as the planetkiller turns toward the planet you can clearly see the brakiri fire a pulse weapon. In ACTA as in the starfury cockpit shot I believe as they are passing over an olympus you can see the brakiri fire a beam.

Ranger1 has it right.
I've watched that scene countless times frame by frame on a digital capture one of the team made off a VHS for the express purpose of looking at that scene (and determining the CGI scale of the Drakh Mothership).

The Avioki while looking big and impressive is not much of a warship as the smaller centauri vorchan can rip them to pieces unless it was the inept crew that were too slow to respond

Maybe the Brakiri ships in the Dancing engagement weren't equipped with weapons. In that case, maybe the Brakiri are just a really, really, really optimistic bunch.
yes the Avioki is seen firing in "Into the Fire" - Ranger1 has sharp eyes - i had noticed it too but i kept forgetting to come and say something
with that and the ACTA footage we now have official weapons specs and the Myth that "The Avioki is never seen firing" has been thoroughly BUSTED.
I wonder if the CG guys were laughing about that myth the entire time

Its probably also the case that Brakiri ships may come in several flavors...some with pulse weapons and some with beam weapons. Or, as we see on the Omega, its not really a problem to fire beams and pulses from the same emitter.

There is no reason to have them fire from the same emitter. The Avioki has two weapon emitters on each wing. 2 beams and 2 pulses. 1 of each on each wing.

And the Omega doesn't do that either.
But the emitters for the heavy plasma canons and X-Ray-lasers are very near to each other, which makes is look like they were firing from the same spot, if shown from some distance.
And to the Brakiri. I was so concentrated on seeing them fire a beam, that I must have overlooked the pulse weapons in "Into the Fire"
.
BTW does someone know where I can get the Crusade Videos. I bought some (3) at amazon, but they only had the 2nd, 4th and 6th
.
And thanks to TNT they screwed the whole thing with the technomages totaly up. Thats nothing like it was written in "the passing of the technomages".
uhm DC++?

Actually Omega does fire from same emitters, but not front weapons.
In several occasions you can see Omega firing beams from it's phalanx pods which usually fire pulses. (The twelve "small" turrets.)
And Ashrak, that's more than enough as a hint.
Norbert, The Passing of the Technomages is not tryly canon per-se. But having read all the B5 trilogies, I fail to remember how exactly did Crusade screw up the trilogy? Besides, don't blame TNT if you notice differences, TNT did not make up or change Crusade story, only relatively lot of influence how much it had appael to general public...

JMS himself said it to be "at least 90% canon".
And if everything seen of the technomages in crusade was true, then the book would never be 90% canon.
For example, where in the book the technomages have just a pattern (where the implants come close to the skin) in crusade Galen has bis black, spiky balls coming out of his back.
While in the books Galen doesn't have to move to cast a spell (just imagine it, and it happens) in Crusade he always makes gestuges whith his hands to cast something.
And the whole Isabelle story was very different from what the book says.
And because the core story of the books comes from JMS himselft, I thought, that it had to be TNTs fault.
