Problem with Fred
Ok, this is a problem that I have been having not only with the B5 mod, but with FreeSpace 2 in general.
Whenever I am making a mission for Fred 2, and I have to set up an event for any capital ship to be able use their beam weapons, no matter what sexp I put for the enable of beam weapons, it won't work. Whether it's a "key-pressed" command, or "time-elapse", or "has-arrived-delay", I can never get the entire command to work. If and when it does work, it only works for like, 1 or 2 of the ships that I put on the list, (usually the ones closest to the top), and the other can't fire.
Someone please help me out, cuz this has been driving me insane ever since I got the game.

I think. In Fred open there is an option to unlock all beams automatically.

What about this flag: "All ships Beam-Freed By Default" in mission specs (CTRL+N)?
Aspirin yes thats for FRED_Open, there isn't such choice in normal FRED, as Kaj pointed out thats best way in normal FRED, since when you just use following:
-true
-beam-free-all
--<ship name>
It wont apply on ships that arrive later, one Kaj gave gives it so that ship that arrives has beams free when it arrives, as it is code counts those ships that are already present, for code those ship that arrives later aren't excisting yet, so code wont apply them with beam. So Kaj's way for normal FRED is best.

I have used that, "has-arrived-delay" flag, and that was one of the ones that wasn't working good. It would only work for like, the first ship put for, "beam-free-all" and then it would ignore all the others I put.
And what is this FS2_open thing you guys keep mentioning? Sorry, I'm a little new to the online forums of the game, so I don't really know all the termonology that has developed with this project.

in 2002 Volition released the Source Code for FS2 and Fred2. Since then a mostly elite group of modders, programers, and artists have been working on improving Freespace 2. We have added Direct X 8 capabilities to FS2, such as Hardware Transformations and Lighting, Shine Mapping, and other improvements such as new SEXPs and playability options such using several mods in to FS2 Directory.

Alright, I need a favor. Could someone leave an active link to a mirror to download the LATEST f2_open build or whatever it is I need. I keep trying to go to this one site, but the link to the page isn't working. Keeps giving me a "Page cannot be displayed" screen, so could someone just provide a link in a reply for me to download from?
