Stuff to come

Ok...as the team and I close in on finishing off some more missions we're going to start having a bunch of changes around here.

Firstly, the website is going to get an overhaul. I did the present one about two years ago...while I like what I did alot I've learned quite a bit since then so I hope to update the visuals quite a bit and totally revamp the content.

Second...a whole new collection of screen shots from the missions. Lots has changed since I last took some of those screen shots and while the one mission that features prominently in there hasn't been changed except for some dialogue the rest have and you'll be seeing plenty of exciting new pictures from what will probably more and more represent the final product.

Thirdly, after two or three years of us being really fuzzy on whats going on in the campaign that is going to change. You'll all have a much better idea of whats going on once the new site is put together. We won't be revealing all...plenty of mystery still present but you'll have enough to guess accurately at what may be happening during the course of the campaign - no matter which side you choose.

More to the point on the choice issue, Ace has just finished off a very technically difficult mission where the choice is made. You guys will love that one when the entire campaign is done and you get to play it!

So thats my fairly massive update for now....hang on to your hats. The next few months should be the finishing stretch for Blackwater Operations.

NICE!!!

Will there be any in depth (is it in depth??) sinopsis about the plot?

I personally kind of liked those short fiction dossiers and background stories that were put in the original Website. I think it gives the upcoming event a nicer expectation!!

Good work.!

well good luck to you. I guess the INF crew (including myself) will be working hard to match this campaign

Well there's some bad guys, some explosions, everyone heads over to Sol, where there might be some more bad guys. Then you pick what side you're on, which leads to even more bad guys, and some big explosions!

Hah!
I stop visiting the VWBB for a few months, and when I come back you still aren't done!

Will any files from the demo be re-used? My connection is too slow to download everything all over again.

Just one of my pet peeves, don't take it personally, Char, but if you type [ quote ] [ /quote ](Minus spaces) around text you want to repeat, it makes this nifty little box

like this
that makes it easier to read your reply.

Well yes and no...sort of but not really. Just stop and consider the ramifications of Earth being a cultural, political, and spiritual center of a relatively large empire (ie. the GTA - spanning multiple star systems and with a population of billions) and then all of the sudden its empire disappears and is physically cutoff from it.

Thats what happened in FS1....so a new status quo has to settle onto Earth and the Solar System (everything was once one way has to become something different). So that status quo exists for that 40 years until BWO and then all of the sudden Earth is once again thrust into intergalactic politics except that you have two problems:

1) Some people liked Earth by itself and that the re-emergence of the rest of the alliance diminishes its meaning and power (since the alliance has also had to move on and establish a new power base - indeed its a NEW alliance as well).
2) Some people think that Earth MUST be the center of the Alliance - the Vasudans can be damned and the GTVA can be thrown out of the window.

And then you have radicals like Admiral Ahmose who feel that the whole Charon thing is a mistake.

Its very galatic-political in nature even with the ultimate backdrop of BWO being largely action oriented.

Movies of influence range from Lord of the Rings to The Sum of All Fears. If you pay attention you should see many of these things.

Do you think you'll actually finish this, or will you one day decide that you can't be bothered because nobody plays FS2 anymore?

By the way, a little off-topic, but does FS2 multiplayer still work?

Sooner rather than later. We actually have about 2-3 missions now that aren't started and we've got alot of missions that are semi-done or mostly done and need dialogue. BWO doesn't have small amounts of dialogue either...compaired to most of what you've seen before its quite a bit more complex with character wingmen and so on. I'm sure we could play it up even more but it'd probably reach a plateau and not really do anything important.

We will be supporting FS Open 3.6 likely. That will have all the nice features and effects that we'll want to have. HT&L for those who can do it and non-HT&L for those who can't...BWO will work fine without (a little choppier but I was willing to live with it beforehand so it should be ok).
