-- Technological Timeline? (http://volitionwatch.papageorgefamily/vwbb/showthread.php?threadid=9334)

Question Technological Timeline?

Has anyone compiled a list of when each ship and fighter came into service (roughly?). I would assume most lists would be just guesswork, aside from ships such as the Ares and Erinyes which just enter common service when each person's pilot becomes Elite.

Doubt it probably because if its not cannon its hard for people to accept, unless someone turns it into a full fledged campaign or something. There might be the fs2 references I've seen in the past that mention some ships but not all...can't remember where though

FSURP contains timelines and dates for all the FS2 events. Since in FS2 you were 'authorized' to use weapons, not issued them as they were invented like in FS1, I'm assuming the majority of the weapons were developed in the NTF war before the events of the main campaign.
Exceptions are the Prometheus S (only after the deployment of gas miners in the nebula), the Kayser (OpEval period at the end of the campaign), the Infyrno (new at the end of the campaign) and the Tornado (deployed to replace the depleted Hornet stocks in the middle of the campaign.)

As for ships, the Apollo, Angel, Hercules, Medusa, and Athena were in use at the start of the Great War. All the FS1 and Silent Threat ships were in use by the events of FS2, including the Herc II, Myrmidon, Artemis, and Boanerges. The Perseus, Pegasus, Erinyes and Ares came into service in that order.
Vasudan ships are a bit tougher to place, though at the start of FS1 the Anubis, Horus, and Seth were in use. The Amun was just starting to be supplanted by the Osiris, and the Thoth came into service at the same time as the Ulysses. The Serapis, Tauret and Bakha were designed and manufactured well before the events of the FS2 campaign since they were very common; the Vasudans redesigned virtually their entire fleet during Reconstruction.
