OK sorry. what I mean is if you go into the weapons loadout menu there are no weapons listed on the thunderbolt and none of teh ones shown can be placed on it. Even without going to said menu and going right into a game the thunderbolt just doesnt have any weapons. On the little in-game HUD box that shows the primary weapon there is nothing there. Thanks for replying. Any help would be great.

Thats usually one of two scenarios:

1) The mission or campaign is broken. Someone forgot to allow the weapon needed, or forgot to set the initial starting permissions for the weapon when they were making the mission.

2) The weapons table has been damaged, corrupted, fiddled with, or otherwise changed so that the weapon is no longer recognized by FreeSpcae 2 as being compatible with the vessel.

What happens if you try to launch a mission from the tech room?

I always almost always launch them from the tech room. However, it happens no matter where I launch it from. Am I looking at a fresh install hree? I never really got to play it much to begin with.

P.S. Thanks for the responses.

If one ship is broken...most likely all of them are broken. FreeSpace 2 works on a very simple system. Rediculously simple once you start opening things up and looking.

For this to be broken, something had to have been done to set it up in the first place.

Have you, by any chance, downloaded missions designed for R1? When I first downloaded Lady Rose's EAS Janus campaign (patched for R2) this problem occurred for me on the INTO THE ABYSS (or whatever it was called) mission. All of the weapons had disappeared from the Thunderbolt's inventory and none of the enemy craft could fire.

The only thing I could suggest in future would be to keep a copy of your ships tables (as Lady Rose suggests in the readme file), just in case of unexpected glitches like this.

Sorry it may not be much help for the moment but it might be of use for the future.

In most cases, simply opening the mission in FRED2 and saving it again will fix any problems like that.
