Workaround Problem?

Hi all.
Maybe im doing something wrong with the workaround file, but when I install the workaround and launch the game I no longer can choose and of TBP missions at all. I only see the standard FS2 campaign.

When I take out the workaround file, then Mists of Fire is available again in Campaign?

Please bear with me if this is just my stupidity, but how do I get to select these missions?

Thanks alot.

Main hall > Tech data > Mission simulator
And select Single missions instead of Campaign missions.

Like it is said in the installation instructions of the workaround and R2 Information thread.

The info, as Fury mentioned, is also available in the readme that shipped with the MOD.

I seem to have a problem with the workaround.

As soon as I installed it, the mod seemed to return to the earlier version (1.1)

I know this cause when I go to the Tech Room, it only shows the few ships from v1.1

Get rid of your old R1.1 files (that means the data folder's contents). FS2 first looks in there, and if (R1 or other) stuff is found, it won't check the R2 .vps at all.

If in doubt what to do, uninstall FS2, reinstall, patch it and then install R2. (That, however, is overkill since you only need to get rid of the old R1 files.)

which R1 files....

I made a BACKUP!!!

It was unsucessful

I completely replaced the DATA folder with the backup I made, no effect.

the point is that there shouldn't be any data files now. Backup or otherwise. Everything is in the VP and what you have in the data folder is taking precedence.

That is correct, it is clearly stated in the installation instructions (available in the R2 information thread, TBP newspage and TBP downloads page) that there must be no mods installed with R2, that includes TBP R1.

no no no! you don't understand!

I reverted to the ORIGINAL "DATA" folder, as in BEFORE I installed 1.1!

oh well, maybe I'll just reinstall FS2

The tech room is by far the last place you should check to see if something has been updated. CHeck the mission lists in the tech room, under simulator, under single missions. That would give you a good indication, so would opening FRED2 to see what ships are present.

The tech room only updates when told to or when creating a new pilot.

Nope, whenever I played the mission, a debugger appears telling me that there is no Omega class ship, no Thunderbolt etc.

BTW, I have completed a full reinstallation of FS2, and the mod.

It works perfectly now
