The Mother of all Multiplayer Missions
Me and slasher are thinking through a very original team vs team multiplayer mission. It will behave very differently to standard missions - in fact the best way to discribe it would be a realtime strategy in space affair.
The general idea is this :
Team vs Team
Primary goal is to destroy the enemies base / bases
But in order to do this you have to collect "cargo" Shuttles enter the mission intermittently and you have to ensure they deliver the supplies to your base. Once you have acquired enough supplies you can make a capital ship (probably done so via flying to a waypoint) which then goes and attacks the enemy base, both sides are trying to do this, if you're being attacked you can let your base denfse deal with the threat and try and harvest more credits for your side to produce your own attack, or defend your base
- there is an element of strategy involved.
This mission will focus on long term goals , and not how many times you die (the respawn rate will be set high - say 100)
The idea is you can select when to build the cap ship (ie save more credits for a bigger ship or / ships)
This will be a complex set of events and I will help slasher deal with the ideas behind the mission while he physically sets the game up. Should provide a quality mission to play with multiplayer TBP though
Give it a fair few months before you see it released to the public.

What about fighters and bombers?
They also have a strategic element.

The Mother of all Multiplayer Missions... I seriously doubt that
Nice idea, but adding strategic elements to FS2 TvTs is nothing new. Hint: Check out FZP3.
Some points in the mission description indicate the lack of experience with FS2 multiplayer - the knowledge of some basic limitations that will handicap the creation and playability of such a hybrid. Good luck!
