-- couple questions (http://volitionwatch.papageorgefamily/vwbb/showthread.php?threadid=8560)
couple questions
1. I want to make a beam that fires 12kilometers but doesent do alot of damge. How would i make it.
2. when you compress a campaign into a vp and include all sounds and tables would you haveto modify anything in fred so Fs2 can find the sounds and tables or would you have too extract the tables and put them in the coresponding fs2 directorys or do you not have to do any of those things.

1) I`ve never really messed with the weapons.tbl but I'd imagine the damage and range values are pretty easy to find. Mess around with them until you get the result you want.
2) Nope. FS2 will find them quite easily as long as the vp is in the main FS2 directory (not so sure about it if you put it in the data folder but I think it will work there). Just make sure you haven`t put any files that countermand the vp in Data or in a vp that comes alphabetically before the one you`ve just made.
You might also want to have a look at the directory stucture page of my FAQ where I explained all this in a little more detail.

As long as you keep the format, it will be fine.
