FRED can now assign different textures to models
The SCP has now implemented a new ability in FRED. You can now designate name plates for different ships. This is good news especially for the Campaign tales of the EAS Janus and other fredders. Also SCP build 3.5 is immenent according to Inquisitor.
Defianently excellent news, has it been deployed already? Or still on test phase? I need to visit HLPBB.

we will i beleive be switching to a SCP exe but it will have a few TBP specific variations. < The latter comment is long term stuff and you probably wont see anything to do with it for at least a year, but there should be some REALLY good features
dont want to spoil anything though.....we want to include fighter beams soon but there are still issues to be resolved, that's bob's area, the second thing we want is accurate volleys of pulse weapons (for use on omega / hyperion etc) when this is ready we will switch to SCP exe's for the game, i'd expect this to be v2.1 if its not v2. i use SCP exe's right now cos they just have upped limitations and i prefer them.

Hopefully R2 will be inline with the features available in FSOpen3.5 and probably 3.6. Its possible that we'll just support the Open EXE's and have them build in switches for TBP specific elements.

They are also trying to replace only part of the textures but for right now you have to select an entire texture for right now. They are also working hard on the cut scenes. As some of you may know the Open source code did not include the original code for the movies. That reminds me how is the TBP Intro movie coming along?

Cool. Maybe in a later version of the scp they can allow the player to use wingart.
