Please make Summoner2 for PC

I'm currently playing S1 and it is really awesome. Please make S2 for PC!

Definitely!

I am loving Summoner 2 for the PS2 but I really want this on the PC (for multiplayer like existed in #1..... but don't make us beat the game single player to open the MP levels... I won't want to beat the whole game again). =)

Well, this is gonna run and run.......

There are still no plans for a PC version (as far as I know) but we can only hope they will do it one day.....

You know what really makes me sad? That Criticom or Outrage Games (one of them is doing the PC port of Red Faction II and the other is doing the Xbox port, can't remember which) isn't including multiplayer for Red Faction II on PC.

Well, then we don't want them doing a PC version of Summoner 2.

Red Faction is such a ho-hum game. I don't understand why Volition doesn't invest more effort into building up its excellent Summoner genre.

With a little more hype and a little more attention to the PC area, it could totally unseat the crappy, boring Baldurs Gate series on the top of the PC RPG hill.

Red Faction is cool once you took time to master it in Multi. I enjoy it more than Quake 3 or UT2003. Or even CS or SOF2 that are a bit different games.

It's really a shame that there will be no multiplayer in RF2, and completly irrational for a FPS. Especially when the whole RF community was waiting for it. They could put multi on ps2, xbox, pc and let everybody play online together ... what i think was never done in the past ... but no they prefer quick and safe money.

As for RF, I bought Summoner for PC after i did try the demo.
I had alot of fun with it, The level design was very cool and nice as well as the evolution of them with the story.
I was waiting and really looking forward for Summoner 2 on PC ...
But seems it wont happen.

Btw Final Fantasy series did a try on PC, but only 2 were ported there. I suppose the success was not in the rendez vous.
THQ/Volition games are not really pushed on PC either, no real publicity, or so ... so i think the sales are marginal

It's sad, cause i often found that Volition games had a special touch in them.

Match, I believe every single Final Fantasy up to 9 was ported to the PC. Many of them were also better on the PC (according to friends I have that are FF addicts).

I find it hard to believe that porting this game to the GC is more profitable than porting it to the PC.

The PC's installed base is tremendously larger than the GC, and from what I have seen so far the GC version isn't selling at all (and many stores aren't even interested in ordering copies for their SHELVES!).

I mean crap, these stores stocked Daikatana and yet don't want to take a risk on Summoner 2 for the GC?

Also, take a look at the fact that there hasn't been a decent PC game come out for months.

If it was Summoner 2 coming out for the PC right now instead of for the GC, it would be gobbling up all the sales and all the PC press.

What a huge mistake THQ made on this one.

I completely agree with you Threshold. I'd LIKE to purchase the GC version but NO stores around here have it! I ended up having to order it online. And if I had a choice whether to buy it on Mac (don't have a PC :-\) or GC, i'd definitely buy the Mac version. *sigh*

I found out that Outrage is actually doing both the PC and Xbox ports. I suppose neither of them will have online support. -_- What's even weirder though, is that I heard that the GameCube version (which is being done by the same guys that ported Summoner 2) won't even have 4-player, even though the PS2 version did!!

Posted by ThresholdRPG on 02-24-2003 08:34 AM:

I also had to order my GC copy online.

Again, I think this is a result of the fact that Volition makes *NO EFFORT* to build any community around their franchises. Their games are virtually UNKNOWN and that is why stores often don't even ORDER THEM .

PLEASE give us Summoner 2 for the PC...... with multiplayer like Summoner 1

I wonder how many copies Summoner: AGR has sold? 80? Seriously though, if the thing DOESN'T bomb, i'll be amazed. I think i've seen ONE magazine ad for the game and that's it. And Cranky Pants spent 9 months on it! If THQ made ONE commercial, and put it on during one or two moderately high rated shows, the sales would probably skyrocket. -______-

For some reason, Volition & THQ seem to WANT their games to fail.

You almost wonder if they are really a front for a drug cartel, so the business is just a cover (just kidding!!!!!!!!! I'm just shocked by the fact that they don't seem to care that they have no marketing and make NO EFFORT to build community around their games!).

I am CERTAIN that a PC version of this game would have sold a crapload more copies than this Gamecube bomb.

I own the PS2 and GC versions and I have to say: don't buy the GC version.

The graphics are a little bit better, but the camera can only zoom about 30% of the way out, which SUCKS for combat.
