Question Descent:FreeSpace

Just out of curiosity, can Descent:Freespace-The Great War, be modded?

Yes. Both FS1 and FS2 uses basically same modding tools.

Scroll down and take the Descent Manager FREESPACE KIT.

Modelling and texturing gurus here can give more detailed information about modelling and texturing.

More info here as well: http://freespace.volitionwatch.com/fs1/mods/

Only major moding differences are the differences in POF spec between FS1 and FS2. The rest is essentially the same and even the POF spec difference is minute...

Have a look in my FAQ and I`ve got links to a whole bunch of FS2 tutorials. The process is virtually the same for FS1.

Except, obviously no beams, not flak, only about half teh sexps, and I don't think most of the tables are interchangeable either.

Also, Interface is more .ani based in fs1.

But if you know fs2, you'll probably find fs1 easier.

Tables aren't interchangeable but they are almost exactly the same...its just that FreeSpace 2's is designed to parse properly with the additions to the POF format.

Cool Cool

thanx Guy's! I learned to model in the TruSpace enviroment & the FAQ support is informative.I think that I'll give it a try when I'm stumped with HomeWorld

...Just a quick Question , Is there a utility to convert pof2cob?

BlackBird, I believe this thread will help you out.

And by the way, can you please just use normal white color in your posts?

Because dark green is hard to read in black background. And even if you have the choice to have colours in your text, it does not mean you should use it always. Default colours ensures good readability in different browsers and monitors.
