-- A question about TBL files on BW Ops... (http://volitionwatch.papageorgefamily/vwbb/showthread.php?threadid=8119)

A question about TBL files on BW Ops...

Guys, after I installed the BlackWater Operations demo, I got, in PXO, a message saying that I have hacked data in my FS2.

The minute I rename the TBL files in the data/tables sub-directory, everything gets back to normal, and I can play MP without problems.

My question is: If I keep those table files renamed, so they don't mess up my multiplaying, will Black Water Ops keep working ok, or will I have problems (such as, say, a game crashing because a modified ship will became an original ship again)?

If I cannot, is there any other way that I can play multiplayer without having to rename the files over and over?

Regards .

In short, no .

You'll need to either keep renaming your table files, or not play multi player. You can rename your data directory, and simply have another data directory with a multiplayer pilot file and not much else in it though, so you only need to rename 2 things everytime you want to swap, but that's as good as it gets I'm afraid

the SCP as the solution to this, namely a set of data folders wich you can switch between without renaming, see this:

I'm hoping the source code will be good enough to support that with BWO when we're done.

All you need to do right now is change the BWO data tree and rename it to /bwo and then create a new shortcut to the FS2 open and go fs2_open.exe -bwo (I think).

Sorry it doesn't work. Tried it, here's the error it gave me:

Error: Unrecogzined command line parameter -bwo
File:E:\Languages\Visual Studio Projects\Visual C++\fs2_open\code\Cmdline\cmdline.cpp
Line: 447

Call stack:
------------------------------------------------------------------
kernel32.dll 77e7eb69()
------------------------------------------------------------------

If you happen to know how to fix it then please, do tell.

Edit: oh, heres the command line that I used:

C:\Games\FreeSpace2\fs2_open.exe -bwo

Well... I don't have that Fs2_open.exe file... is that FS2 open something that I can download?

That won't work. Do it this way...

fs2_open -mod bwo

which will look in
freespace2/bwo/data
freespace2/bwo/missions
freespace2/bwo/data/tables

and so on. The format is fs2_open -mod [the mod], not fs2_open -[the mod].
