I think there was some talking about this on normal FS1/FS2 general forum and if I correctly remember many (including me) hoped that Interplay or FS rights would go to Volition.
But I think this should be on general FS forum, not here.

Now it is. Here's hoping that Volition picks up the rights to their own games.

i hope so too, at least then we would see a FreeSpace 3 that uses Pixel Shading, Envirement Bumpmapping. >:-)
also, they could release a patch to enable special GeForce 4 / FX Special Effects.
Now that would rule!!!!!!!

2 frames per second would rule, man!
Of course, you would have the option to have it turned on or off.
Even better to have the Cruisers, Corvettes, Destroyers, Stations and other big ships and stations fitted with Shields and cloaking technology.
Now that would RULE!!!

i posted it under babylon cause you are all FS fans right? :P
and i'd gladly run FS3 at 4 fps. just having an FS3 would be enough

Well...
If FS3 comes around, I would happily kick my current PC out of the window and buy a new one.
Can you imagine what kind of ancient machine I use?

i salvaged the NCC 1701-D when it was destroyed by the Bird of Prey on Star Trek Generations.
I stole their Computer......now i get 1000000fps on FreeSpace 2 with FSAA turned all the way up and with Anisotropic Filtering all the way up, the Computer even upgraded the game.
You would even think it was real. hehehehehehe
