Fred 3.0

Hello, I'm new here and I have been looking through a part of these forums for a while and I remember seeing something about Fred 3.0 (I think), if it exists, I ask you:

-what is the difference between it and Fred 2.0 ?

-if it's any better where can I find it?

I would apreciate any kind of answer.
Thanks.

(sorry about the english I just wrote)

You can find from HLP forums right about here: http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~freespace/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11352

There is few added applications (SEXPs, like grant-medal), clowpoints etc.

I personally use still FRED 2.0, really dont know why, but I use it.

FreeSpace 2 source code was released to the public. Coders have been working hard for some time now.

New fs2_open.exe and fred2_open.exe are still work in progress, they have bugs and all sort of glitches. It will take some time to perfect them. Because new features and fixes will be added weekly, it can be difficult to track down certain bugs.

I encourage everyone to take part of Source Code Project team as testers, when they report bugs and give feedback it makes development much better.

Please, check out Source Code Project homepage and forums.

Progress has been very impressive so far. I can't even imagine what FS2 is like next Christmas...

Question

And are those files compatible with the "The Babylon Project"?

I think you can use Open on TBP also, but I dont know how many features will work on it. There is own TBP Open at somepoint perhaps on times of R3

We're working with the FSSCP team to produce our own version of the open source code but designed specifically for TBP. FRED2 open should work just fine with TBP and other mods...but I don't trust it yet...not for my work in BWO anyways.
