S2: Krobelus Unloved? Why?

Heya,

Another newbie here. Been lurking the last week and enjoying the useful info here and on SummonerHeads ( http://otf.krabbit.com/viewforum.php?f=17&sid= ).

I am playing S2, and my girlfriend is playing at same time with a different party as we trade off. Which is interesting as we catch each other missing things or doing things differently.

She loves Krobelus but I see on one of the popular "who is your favorite party" lthreads he doesn't even come up 5th. Why?

Is there something about Krobelus disappearing later like Ignus did in Planescape Torment?

I even noticed in one of the 2 great FAQs that are out, the first Heal Ring available was listed as for only Yago and Neru, but it actually works for Krobelus too...

Is my gal making a big mistake?

More info here. Probably old news to most of you, but she had a very easy time going through Hopris to bring Sangril to her goal. With Krobelus in party as healer/caster the auto cure was very nice, plus Krobelus kept Sangril constantly hasted. My gal chose to ramp up Maia's Necromancy to max as well, so she was using death pact on krobelus in case he died so he could immediately be available for curing poison even when recently dead For Sangril's objective she went in with Regeneration pre-cast on her and had a real easy time using leg slice and going head to head. Sangril was level 11 I think, so not nearly as impressive as the guy who did it at level 7. But still. Good party combination.

I will only say this once as a warning.

Use Neru and not Krobelus from now on. Tell her that.

I have beat the game 3 times now and something happens everytime and anyways - Neru owns :P

I can also see now how not only Neru is a great alternate caster but other mobs like Iari can do haste and so forth.

Whenever you can - Go to the arena in Munari City and level all your guys up as long as you can.

There are parts where you have to use just 2 at a time! And you have to use all your people for those 2 at a time things. (IE: Maia and Yago / Taugris and Sangaril etc..) So you want to keep them about equal level.

My Taugris actually outleveled my Maia -.-

But anyways..go to arena, do survival..try to level them all up.

And Neru owns Krobelus - He can be a good healer but also he's much harder to kill. Just get your warrior(I think) skill up high enough to use Defensive stance, and always have it on Neru. =) He is a hard SOB to kill in Defensive stance once he gets a Defense necklace and some nice armor.
