Angry Is there some way to edit Silent Threat's last mission?

Man...did Silent Threat's designers really intend the Hades to be THIS strong?? It's absurd! I've already read various topics and guides on how to beat this mission, but is there some way to just edit it? I'd like to edit the absurdly high hull strength of the Hades, largely because I'm not willing to tape the trigger down and take a nap.

you could change the table values or you could use fred to edit the mission in some way (more bombers), but you'll need vpveiw to extract any of them. I don't remember the link off the top of my head but I'm sure someone has it bookmarked around hear

MY FAQ has all the info on how to find and use VPView.

Once you have it, extract the ships.tbl and open it in notepad. Do a search for the word hades. Scroll down until you see the hitpoints entry and then change that number to something smaller.

I usually hack a zero off the end of its hitpoints...that makes the battle less aneurism inducing...

I think V took the 'believe it to be an attempt to recreate the Lucifier' just a bit to far and gave it to many hit points. I'll make it twice the strength of an Orion, after all you don't want the last mission to be too easy.

Too many hit points yes, but if it takes so long to get rid of the main baseship, its the fighters that can get on you. Releasing 6 fighters within 10 seconds of the destruction of a ship for ten minutes is indeed absurd...

But it adds all the more fun to watch bombs fly off and explode
