You need to install Hi-Textures (or was Hi-Reso) to play on 1024x768.

You have to reinstall I`m afraid. If you click on my FAQ below and go to the techical questions bit It`ll tell you what to back up.

I`ve set mine to 640x480 and then to 1024x768 without a reinstall through the control panel without any problems.... You should be able to do the same if your vid card accepts 1024x768 resolution.. I was running a voodoo3, but have since bought a Radeon 7500.. It did the same thing as yours (set it up for 640x480)...
You sure you didn`t do a full install first and then choose 640x480 and then forgot you`d installed the Hi-Res stuff?

You NEED to have the high res pack installed for starters. Thats on installation. It contains all the interface art and whatnot necessary for using the 1024x768 mode.
Secondly, you need to use the control panel of FS2 (Setup on the launcher) and have it detect available modes. I prefer 16bit 1024x768 but others are pleased as punch with 32bit mode. Do a scan for all of those (click the boxes).
