32-bit colour; anyone else not able to use it?
I just picked up Red Faction the other day, and am having a problem that's been dogging me ever since I tried out the demo. I can set my video card to 32-bit colour just fine immediately after I click "Detect," but as soon as I go back into the launcher it's been set to 16-bit colour and 32-bit is no longer a valid option!
I've had this problem with my old Savage 4 and my current Radeon 8500 LE, and originally thought it was just a limitation of the demo version. I'm running the latest Catalyst drivers, DirectX 8.1b, and have the latest version of every other driver in my system.
The rest of my specs:
-1 GHz AMD Thunderbird
-Abit KR7A-RAID (VIA KT266A based)
-128 megs DDR RAM
-Radeon 8500 LE
-SB Live Value (original release, not 5.1)
-Logitech iFeel mouse

for one thing.. why would you want to put it in 32 and hinder your performance.. makes no sense at all. the eye can barely see the difference between the two.. if at all..
