Red Faction Watch: Review Grab-Bag!
Posted by Alphakiller:
A few more Red Faction reviews for you...first off the bat is Happy Puppy with their review...including such memorable quotes as: "Much to Parker's surprise, Mars sucks ass ... worst of all, Mars' ladies are totally butch." It also managed to reference Pokemon to the plague, so go figure. Basically, the guy loved gameplay, had a few minor gripes about the graphics, and thought the multiplayer mode was tons of fun. You can check the review here or just get the numbers from me!
Graphically, he gave it a 9, Sound got a 7, Control got an 8, Gameplay gets a perfect 10 and Value gets a 9 for an overall score of a big 9.5 out of 10! But of course you know you want to check out the whole thing, if for nothing else than to see the guy's "Pros and Cons" ...
And at Gaming:"I'm with ivan, where DO all these places come from? The Obsession you can read (as of now) two reviews, one done by a site staffer, one by a user. Now, the review is dated April 30, 2001, which interests me since the game didn't come out until May 23, so he might just be playing the demo ... or something. Regardless, the guy says it for me: "Do-not-pass-up-this-once-in-a-life-time-game. And that's all that's "gotta" be said."
So there! Check his 4.5 out of 5 stars review out right here as well as the user-review, at the same page, which gives Red Faction a sweet 5 of 5 stars. He loved the graphics, wished it had a 4-player mode, and thought THQ developed the game. Oh well, we can't all be perfect.
Interestingly enough, on the site's "Top 10 Most Popular" review page, Red Faction is #2! ... which is strange, behind #1, Metal Gear Solid 2. I was under the impression you could only review games that were actually out? OK, OK, he's reviewing demos. Seriously, he even says "MGS2: Demo" once you click on it. Which seems a little unfair to me, judging a complete game by the demo, but they still really like Red Faction so who cares?
