News and stuff!

Ok guys, the quick update from BWO central. No time to update the website yet....but progress is moving slowly.

The latest holdup has been induced by the return of classes and the return of many many assignments, mid-terms, and exams to worry about. In between all of this, we have a couple of things going for you guys.

1) The BWO Demo has some errors we need to correct. Some voice acting lines seem to have been missed. I don't know how many yet but with BlackSheep's assistance we'll iron this problem out.

2) The main campaign has been re-organized a bit. Its suffered from urban sprawl syndrom a bit and become large and complicated. As such, we've decided to cut some of the missions we were planning and focusing more on a few less missions. So expect the overall count to drop by about 10 missions or so. Kellan intends to keep the ideas floating about because in some cases, one mission idea will be combined together with another to create a really awesome mission and in a few cases we'll keep them on hand for future projects.

3) MODs are in good shape. We've dropped waiting for one particular model and gotten one of the Sol capital ships into the game that we needed to complete some more missions. We've still got one Sol bomber model that is untextured at present needing some textures. That may or may not get done...so we'll see what happens to that...but it won't impede out progress.

Thats all I can say for now.

Nice to hear that BWO is advancing. Sad to hear that you are about to lessen the amount of missions but sacrifices have to be made some times.

Keep up the good work.

Well I'm still waiting patiently.
It's funny - I was waiting for The Darkest Day to come out for BG, that was a pretty heavy mod, but they took so long to bring out the ToB version that I didn't even bother to DL it because NWN had already come out.

FS2 is a totally different matter tho' - I can't think of a single space combat sim that has come out that even touches it.
I'm looking forward to Freelancer, it sounds promising, but I hope it isn't as crap as Starlancer (Great storyline, not so great game).

FS2 is one of the few 'older' games I still play (The others being MechWarrior3 and StarCraft). It's a credit to Volition that after all this time their game still rocks so much. I got FS2 and X-Wing Alliance about the same time, but I haven't played X-Wing in over a year now!

The drop-dead gorgeous models in The Babylon Project, and the sheer anticipation of the Golgotha alone in BWO, has kept me glued to FS2 and keeps tripping my "Drooling Fanboy" switch!

So, like, keep up the good work. And make sure it rocks!

I liked SL. Not as good as FS, but not bad either. I also look forward to Freelancer

We've gotten a few ideas from SL actually. Torpedo's and squadron community as I like to call it.

Torps!!!!

I always thought FS should have had those, but forgave their nonexistance by looking at a beam for the first time.

Ok....the good news is coming. BWO's demo is pretty much finished. Its got some bugs and a few missing voice recordings...so we'll wait for all of that to be fixed before release.

No estimated date for release yet. I'll probably give about 48 hours notice.

The demo uses minor MOD's and is action/story oriented towards events that will set things in motion for BWO's main campaign. Consider this a prequel.
