red aleart missions

I am having a slight problem in getting capital ships to carry over in red aleart missions. I can get fighters to carry over with no problem, but I cannot for the life of me get capital ships to carry over. Any help will be greatly apreciated.

Name the capital ship the same name, give it the red-alert carry over tag and voila...it should carry over. But it has to be present in both missions with exactly the same name or its no good.

hmmm, still no go. The ship is in the red aleart mission, but is magicaly restored to full health. Any other ideas?

You are running it through a campaign file yes? Not switching single missions from the tech room?
