Weapon Question
When the devs say 14 weapons are they including grenades? Also are they counting dual pistols as a different weapons as a single pistol?
It kinda sounds like they count them as different weapons in this interview at
http://uk.playstation.com/features/featureStory.jhtml?storyId=102228_en_GB_FEAT
it says "So we have dual pistols, we have a couple of surprises; I don't want to give all of it away. The grenade launcher is your weapon as demolitions expert, then there's pistols, dual pistols, assault rifles, machine pistols, dual machine pistols, something called the NICW, a reticule gun that you can see through walls with. It won't shoot through walls but you can target people and if they're behind an obstacle you'll be able to see them."
That other gun sounds like a gimped rail driver, they couldnt get the old one fixed so now it just looks :P

Hmm... 14 weapons is about average for a PC shooter. I personally would like more weapons, and ones that are actually memorable in some way (Perfect Dark, GoldenEye), not just another gun.
Having dual pistols listed as seperate weapons would be cheating, but knives, batons and grenades ARE seperate weapons and will almost certainly be listed as such.
It is really cheap to list them as separate weapons; and thats why i want to know how they counted them

The Dual weapons (there's three or four) are not counted as a separate weapon.
The NICW is not a cheap version of the rail gun.
I believe grenades (there are 4 or 5 variants of 'grenade') are not counted towards the "14" either.

I agree about the weapons, instead of having loads of guns that look slightly different and have a slightly different sound, but fire bullets that do exactly the same thing.
It should be tactical, I think there needs to be:-
1. 9mm pistol, useful up close,
2. .50 desert eagle, slow firing but packs a massive punch
3. Mac-10, fast firing but weak and inaccurate
4. Mp5, good all rounder
5. Ak-47 7.62 callibre, essential for any game
6. Sig sg552
7. Barret .50 Sniper rifle
8. Sig sg 550 Semi auto sniper rifle
9. Bernelli Auto shot gun
10. RPG- mark 9
11. mark-50 grenade launcher
12. grendae
13 Remote explosives - capable of destroying vehicles, much more power than single grenade
14. SAW FN-249 heavy machine gun
For the love of God, have primary fire PLACE the remote explosive and secondary fire DETONATE all placed explosives! Please! I beg of you!

I noticed that in the ps2 version of RF, the weapon sounds were'nt great, but more importantly there was a bug/"feature" that meant that say u had the heavy machine guna and hit fire real quick, the sounds of the individual shots were shortened, which made the weapons sounds really dumb. Bad weapon sounds sounding dumb doesnt make me smile.
Another note with the weapons, it kind of annoyed me the way a single shot had the same potential accuracy as a full auto shot, for example, if you fire the assualt rifle once, the shot is as accurate as if you had been firing in full auto!
I say they should use the counter strike aiming system, where if you crouched, or not moving, your potential accuracy is increased, and when youstart firing the aiming cross gets bigger, showing that your accuracy is decreasing. The aiming cross would also be effected by weapon type and maybe even if you have been shot to the arm.
I hope Volition make use of all of our suggestions, as we will be the ones who pay for game, if we like it.
but you will probably buy the game even if they dont fix it right. Not much incentive for them.

I think it's been said in a couple of previews already that obvious favorites like the rail are going to be back.

Considering the rail driver was probably the second coolest gun out of RF1 (sorry, it's all about the Precision Rifle from my point of view
) I think it - or something like it - would have to be back.
