-- Any Ideas? (http://volitionwatch.papageorgefamily/vwbb/showthread.php?threadid=6858)
Any Ideas?
Does anyone know of a MOD or patch that makes FS2 more compatible with Open GL graphics cards. I've looked around but have been unable to find any. I need some help as the slowdown I'm getting on a 64 Mb card is ridiculous.

fixes
i "only" got a 32 MB GF2 MMX card.
And everything regarding freespace is running fine.
you may have one of the usual problems, like two many programs running while running Freespace2, swapfile usage will do horror to your speeds as Swapfiles are read from harddrives and are so much slower than standard RAM.
RAM read time averaged 8 nano seconds.
HD read time averaged 5 mili seconds, which when speaking PC speeds are an infinity.
It may also be that windows is doing one of its lesser liked "features" regarding memory. Look at outertech.com for a free memory manager program called Cacheman.
its a 15 day trial program, but will not quit on you when the time is up, and anyway, the Reg fee is "only" 10 US $.
since, im pretty sure, opengl has nothing to do with this.
