Fenris Class is Out of control!

I was playing with one of my missions, and at the end of it, a group of 5 ships enters hyperspace.

One of them in a Fenris class cruiser, with no beam canons.

For fun, I loaded up my ship with Trebuchets to see if I could destroy my own convoy. Unfortunately, for most of the mission, I was dealing with other wings, and enemy fighters, and I didn't have time to attack my own cruiser.

However, about 20 seconds before it entered hyperspace, I attacked it's engines, and disabled them just as it engaged hyperspace drive.

It spun around on it's X/Y axis twice, and blew up with shockwave explosion, half way into hyperspace. I stunned for a minute since I had never seen anything like that, but I tried to screen shot it. This is what I captured:

interesting...never new they did that, were you using the Morning Star along with another weapon?

You've never done that? Its cool to watch eh?

I did something similar to a Cain cruiser. Except it took a full on slasher beam from a Sobek and it flipped on its side and spin out of control while exploding.

Same with me on Aeolus, laughed a long time

It seems that it takes a one of the fighter dying animations and uses it for cap ship destroy, instead of normal explosion... It amazes alittle, but looks cool

Hehe, the fun to be had with subspace...

Once when a Hades was entering subspace, it got caught on a piece of debris and stopped moving. The subspace animation played and disappeared but the Hades was still there. I turned away so I could get a better look, but then when I turned back, the Hades had disappeared.

Next stop... Sathanas.

yes the ol ship-getting-destoied-while-entering-subspace thing, the coolest thing in the whole damn game, wether is a fighter or a cruser, but the best is destroier

Nah, the coolest thing is when you get a capship to enter hyperspace while tumbling. I had a mission once with a Hatshepsut that warped out while another ship was slightly in its way. It tried to evade, but since it was already warping, it ended up flipping end over end and "bellyflopping" into hyperspace sideways.
