problems starting a server

I tried to search the forum for help, but it wont let me...

anyway, I am behind a fire wall and want to have a public dedicated server. i know i need to open port 7755, which i have done.

my problem is that my server will not show up for public use. I know this was a big problem long ago, but i have been away from RF for over 6 months, and want to know if anyone has solved this problem yet....

if your server is not showing up then somethings not configured right.. what kind of router are you using? does it have dmz setting? you can try manually changing the port in set up with the luancher and then using a differenet port.. you will have to do this if you want to be able to log onto your server with a pc on your lan. maybe for some reason you already have the port forwarded in rf to another one? firewall could do it too. give me pc specs if you have any more problems.

Vettinit is probably right about the DMZ setting. You're computer will probably have to be in the DMZ to work. Heck, my computer has to be in the DMZ to recieve ICQ File Transfers

I had the some problem when I got my new router -never had any prob with the old one- now I've got it working, but I didn't want to have it in DMZ, the problem was that the router didn't reply to internet pings. Now it's enabled, and I'm running my happy -public- clanserver.
