Z'ha'dum

I have just watched the episode Z'ha'dum again and I must say it is fantastic!!! In my opinion JMS's best work is not in the battle heavy episodes of Severed Dreams (my favourite episode), Between the Darkness and the Light and Shadow Dancing but in the dark revelatory episodes such as Z'ha'dum, Fall of Night and The Long Night. It is here that JMS manages to create a sense of utter despair that all is lost but not yet over and in this there is hope.

Brilliant, just brilliant.

Ooh... Now let's see

Z'ha'dum is indeed the greatest episode in B5 - after that comes Severed Dreams, EndGame, The Long Twilight Struggle and then the rest. But the best thing about Babylon5 was and always will be is In the Beginning... It truly shines in the night on my DVD shelves... Hard to sleep.

Funny, you guys are all liking ItB, but I thought it was pretty weak. Weird. To each their own, I suppose.

ITB makes everything fit too nicely into a neat package. I only liked the fact of the beginning, with Londo in the Palace, and how it ends, but other than that.... the idea that G'Kar and Sheridan and Franklin meeting, it doesn't seem very consistant with the show itself. (G'Kar's Character was more devious, look at his first season on B5, hell the pilot movie and the first episode show how dislikeable he could be.)

The Gathering, I like it, since it started it all (still remember watching it when it first aired )

I think Seasons2-4 are far, far better than all the movies though. The episodes were so much better written and produced... I should be thankful for the movies that were done thanks to TNT, and for that final season, but I still feel that seasons 2-4 are far better. (plus Season 1's Babylon Squared, and Crysalis, and Bester's first appearance)
I have yet to see Legend of the Rangers, would I enjoy it? (if it is B5, then I probibly will... but is it better than the show was?)

It is true that G'kar was very devious in "The Gatering",but it in "In the Begining", you see how the Narns are opportunistic. Going for the "green", probably so they could make the Centauris pay for what they did to his home planet and to his people.

I'd like to recommend JMS's Twilight Zone episodes at this point. Especially Something in the Walls and Rendezvous in a Dark Place at this point. Not to say the others are poor, all his episodes are excellent.

off topic here by i recommend JMS's new show Jeremiah its a really really good series

Krytor: Legend of the Rangers...well, considering that what we saw was basically a pilot, it was pretty rough, IMO. It had promise, but I liked Crusade a lot more.

Plus, certain parts (Power Rangers weapons-control! ) sucked pretty hard, IMO.

Worth watching, but not - as has been pointed out here - seasons 2 to 4 of B5.
