What do you Reconmend?

I was wondering which MODS the staff of BWO reconmends? It seems to be awhile till we get the full campaign of BWO, though a demo is coming soon it looks, I was just trying to find out which mods are worth D/L, and was wondering your input. Icefire, you seem to be a part of many MODS for Freespace, so your reconmendation would be very appreciated.
(I apologize if this is not the proper forum to post on, but like I stated above, I wonder what the BWO staff would reconmend.)

This is an ok place to ask that.

Depends on what kind of MODs you are looking for. Some are fun, some are fairly useless unless your building a campaign.

http://freespace.volitionwatch.com/babylon/ - Babylon Project Release 1 I'd say takes the cake

Ok, how about Non-TC (TBP I've been following for about a year or two now.) I was refering more to the ones like BWO. Something with a good storyline... And since I already have TBP release 1 on my computer, does that mean I have to d/l it to get other Mods on there, or has this been fixed?

Ok....you said MODs so I went after MODs

Here's a couple other things to try.

http://freespace.volitionwatch.com/derelict/
http://freespace.volitionwatch.com/warzone

Warzone is my creation, Derelict is Agatheron's and Kellan's. We're all on the same team for BWO so what we've got there is sort of precusor to what were doing in BWO. The story's aren't too linked, but alot of people do like playing both of those so give them a try. Warzone is 20 missions of some pretty intense fighting, some story, and one new ship. Derelict is about twice as long with a couple of minor MODs.

Most campaigns that are being advertised so much in the forums are still under developement...so you gotta wait a while until you see something...

yeah, but Warzone and Derelict are done, and think I am going to D/L them soon. Can i have more than one "mod" installed at once?
And if we have an ideas for possible ships (like a new class) are they welcomed? or is the BWO campaign pretty much finished?
Who knows, I might even get to modeling in TrueSpace here sooner or later.

Basically your MODs come like this:

* .pof and map (.pcx) files
* ship, weapon etc tables.

You can have lots of the first class in your directory with no problem. However, you can only have one set of tables. They basically 'activate' those .pof files, which are the actual ship models in the game. To switch between them, it's good to have folders where you can put your BWO/Warzone/whatever files when you want to use something else.

Now, maybe this sounds patronising...sorry if so.

As for BWO, we are pretty MOD static. Bobboau made more than we could actually use, though we have recently added a replacement bomber for Sol to use. It's not EVEN BIGGAR than the Vanir, thankfully.

Very little. I have the "inside Truespace 4" book, and trying to get a better understadning. When I do I will get immediately to work on Narn Transport for you, or anything else the TBP might need.... right now I want to try and look at things backwards, import a file into Truespace from Freespace 2 and look at it that way to figure out how to design and model things better in Truespace.

I've been expirmenting with it for about a year now, off and on. Right now I seem to have some time so I am trying to get better at that program. I am more comfortable with a program called Infini-D. But for making models you need to have Truespace... if I learn enough to help contribute, I will. (I might be able to texture some things, if you have a finished model I would be willing to give it a try.)
