Help!!

ok i tried to install Freespace2 on my comp and i got some kind of autorun error so then i manually went to my CD-Rom drive and opened the setup then i started to install and i got to 52% then got this message

ComponentMoveData error:

MediaName:data
ComponentDisc 1d- intel anims
FileGroup:intel anims
File:smarty_fs2.vp
ErrorNumber:-106

then i hit ok and the setup exits. i got no idea what that means anyone know how to fix it so i can install and play the game ?

That's a CD error. If you have a friend with a copy of freespace ask them for a copy of CD1.

If you don`t some people have reported that manually copying CD1 to your hard drive and then installing from there works.

2) windows key alt-tab ctrl-esc too many keys at once or just an ordinary crash

Yeah. Or use daemontools to mount an image to your HD. That is, copy the entire CD to the hard drive, then make a fake drive letter that'll pretend to be the FS2 CD; but it's actually just sitting on your HD.

Well THAT was the reason, I found simply no other and I was in heavy fight, so...
But it is nice to realize that the game works rather as usuall.

Well THAT was the reason, I found simply no other and I was in heavy fight, so...
But it is nice to realize that the game works rather as usuall.

hmmm, on my other computer, every game i stick on it crashes to desktop without warning or error messages after being in a game for so long, i think its a memory issue.

HAve the same problems still, but others disappeared.
Sometimes CD didn`t work properly, finally the drive crashed yesterday.
I romoved it from the computer, with a screvdriver deconstructed to the basic parts than made it back and now it works just like a brand new one- though almoust 4 years old.
