-- Freespace 3? (http://volitionwatch.papageorgefamily/vwbb/showthread.php?threadid=5913)

Question Freespace 3?

I've heard that Freespace 3 was at one time in production, but was cancelled so Interplay could work on Wonderbuck. Is this true? Dear god, don't tell me it's true.

I'm pretty sure FS3 was never in production. The license was shelved by Interplay after FS2, if I remember right. But many employees at Volition have been quoted as saying they would do a sequel to FS2 "in a heartbeat" ... don't get your hopes up though, a flurry of legal issues stand in the way of said sequel.

Strangely enough...Interplay has something against FS2 it seems. They don't even sell it anymore...but Descent: FreeSpace can be had everywhere.

It is sold, but as part of their advertising policy, the box has stealth systems, making it hard to find.

I can't find a copy of FS2 anywhere in Leeds, aside from one battered box on the back shelves of GAME. Perhaps its stealth systems were broken?

Strange, 'cause there was a flood of FS2 copies only a few months back.

Sorry, I can't talk, I have to go assassinate and impersonate key Interplay personnell so I can give Volition legal rights to do Freespace 3.

Or something.

There is no VBB for them to go to.

Stealth systems on the FS2 boxes? Hah! More like selling them only in Area 51.

Lets not start the FS3 thing here okay? FS3 topics almost killed the VBB...

Well I'm glad I got it when I did.
