FS2 Crashing on me!

I recently reinstalled FS2 after a game-hiatus on my computer. There's one problem, every time I finish a mission it crashes my computer. All computation stops and I have to do a restart. This is very bad, plus its slowing down my progression in the campaigns to a crawl....actually less than a crawl. Any help available? Please?
