Well I've been working on ways of doing FS2 nebulas, and here's some samples for Twilight:

I used that one program mentioned on HLP, Starbits, plus PSP. (did the main textures myself, starbits for the basic layout, then PSP edits)

First one looks like a swoosh from Nike or something....take a smudge tool and move the edges about to give yourself a more organic look.

Otherwise, thats pretty cool!

Even a supernova remnant isn't that symetrical...but I do see the intent with the overlays.

Actually it's not a remnant but a recent gas ring ejection, I'll be doing further nebulas for past ejections. (in the mission you're in-between a current expanding one and a dead one)
