Angry error parsing weapons.tbl

Hi, be gentle with the newbie please :-)

Finally got round to starting to play this. Downloaded the FS2 demo, downloaded and installed the TBP core, went to play the game - up pops a dialog, 'error parsing weapons.tbl', gives a line number. Options are 'debug' or 'cancel'. Grrrrrrrr.

Downloaded the FS2 demo patch1.1 thing, applied it, same result but slightly different line number. Presumed I had a bad download of TBP, scanned the weapons.tbl - looks ok on a quick scan, I can read it, it isn't garbage - downloaded TBP core again just in case, same result.

Hitting the debug option on the dialog allows the game to play, it works fine (nice work guys & gals!) - just no weapons :-(

Any clue? I've searched the forum and the FAQ, nothing.

This is Athlon 1800 geforce2 Win2kPro.

TIA

Mike
PS just scanning other messages noticed DuckieofDoom out there also in New York - no relation!!!!!!

Nope... The Babylon Project is for FULL version of FS2, not for demo. Sorry man but you need to buy full version of FS2 to enjoy this masterpiece.
FS2 should be pretty cheap nowadays, but I may be harder to find...

Exclamation

Well doh! That's fairly obvious... not! To someone who's coming cold to this thing, you start at the TBP home page, it says you need FS2, you follow the link to FS2 and there's no info about buying FS2, only a download for the demo... I guess I figured FS2 wasn't finished and wasn't available for sale yet(!!!!!)... sure experienced gamers will know all about FS2 but we ain't all experienced gamers :-)

Maybe one for the FAQ? Where can you buy FS2? I'll try compusa today, I've seen on web searches it's available as a bundle with the original FS...

Thanks!

Mike
