Uk Dvd

I was just looking to find out when The Gathering/In the
Beginning DVD was coming out in the UK and it turns out
that they are going to be selling them as two seperate DVDs,
priced around £17 (which works out about 50 US dollars for
both). Once again we are being shafted by Warner.

It depends on what extras are included if the DVDs. If these versions are identical then I agree, we are getting shafted (perhaps WB want to make up for shafting the Americans over the VHS video release of B5).

From what I hear, its 100% shafted....but its Babylon 5 and the DVD set is definately a good one.

Two things.

1) Don't expect special features. The point is the movies.
2) Don't expect DVD super quality levels, but expect the image to be pretty crisp and sharp. There are people who are complaining about the quality. These are the same people who watch their TV from 10cm away. The DVD(s) is(are) excellent!

One thing I wish they had done when they went to make the dvds would have been to redo the cg entirely, rather than just stripping off the top and bottom to give it a 16:9 ratio. The filmed scenes I can deal with, but there's just something about losing parts of the ship scenes that irritates me. For example, in the Battle of the Line scene, before they formatted it to widescreen, at the top of the frame you could see a jump-point where a swarm of Sharlins floods out, but with the widescreen format, that gets cropped off. I know it's too expensive for them to justify doing, but it would have been nice.

I hope when it gets to the UK , it will get here too, does anyone know the timetable?

That actually works out to be alot less than $50, but I actually ordered both on 1 DVD from amazon us, for $14.98 which is damn cheap. Its region 1, so only bother if you own an all region player.

But I wouldn't do something like that. Well, I might do something like that to Fraz, but he doesn't do things that make me angry. And I'd prefer to keep it that way.

Well to make a long story short.... Over at the The Bar where both myself and Alphakiller post there is an admin called Fraz. He's not the kind of admin one wants to mess with, or annoy, as several members over there will know
