An Inbred Yokel needs help-Misison editing
Well, this is just a minor thing but........when I make missions in FRED2 for fun, the Minbari cap ships just...........sit there, they don't DO anything unless I ask them to kamikaze something. Any reason why this happens?
Maybe its because you haven't said the Minbari ship to use its beam weapons. Since the Minbari only have Beams it would do nothing if you dont do that.

Bleh, well thanks, that was stupid of me.
Also, if you want them to move, you have to tell them to attack the ships in "Initial orders"
Reading the walkthrough is often quite helpful you know...
The ship was also named incorrectly.......
Are you kidding. I learened to use FRED2 with making the walktrough mission. And that mission is good. Make walktroughs mission and you learn a lot in little time
Yeah, completing FRED2 walkthrough first is A-1 SUPAR!

I found that just following the walkthrough and applying its principles to making a mission of my own choice worked fine. The mission I made as a result worked and is fairly good

Well while we are on the topic of a walkthrough I have done the walk through but it was a while again and I don't think it said how to do what I want to do. I am making a mission similar to Severed Dreams and I want a few ships to go through their waypoints at certain times. My ships go through their waypoints but I don't want them to start their waypoint paths until the hostile ships arrive. Any idea what I can do there? I also want the next hostile task force to arrive after the other one has been completely destroyed. Then I want then to run tail and run when 2 sharlins show up using the waypoints I set up for them. If someone wouldn't ind please list those 2 sexps.

How to start a waypointpath after a ship has arrived is easy:
-create an event:
when
-has-arrived-delay
---enemy ship
---delay(if you want that, otherwise 0)
-add goal
---name of the ship that must follow the path
--ai-waypoints-once(type of goal)
---name of the path
---priority
That should do the trick.
Event name
-when
-has-arrived-delay
-1
-Nova 1
-add-goal
-Alpha 2
-ai-waypoints(-once)
-Waypoint path 1
-89
As for task forces, form wings and then change "of Waves" and "Wave threshold" values. That should do it.
Damn Starkiller...
