Unhappy download

i finaly get the mod to download on my damn 56k modem, and then when i try to install it, i get "Installer CRC invalid"

even a reinstall of freespace did not help.

do i need a FS2 patch or did the download stuff up?

i will be damn pissed if the download did stuff up and i just ended up wasteing over 100mb of download (damn 450mb download/month)

Well , be sure to have the newest FS2 patch ( I think V1.2 ) , but I can't tell you if that is the problem.

If this doesnt help... Well , we had problems with the 130 MB version , the version split up in the modules is flawless.

Well , is here anyone who can help him ?

why does 3d downloads not work.

Posted by Fedaykin on 11-25-2001 11:24 AM:

A CRC error will more then likely indicate a corrupt download. Afraid your gonna have to do it all again...

Sorry but CRC-error indicates that your download is most likely corrupted.

damn it.

could getright have done that??????????????

I will have to wait a few days before trying again. (damn 450mb/month).

I have to use a download "aid" program like getright, due to ISP and a few "other" things. (like i am not ment to be online and sometimes i just need to puase downloads, run out to the dail up computer and get off the net.)

The longest i can stay online for is 6 hours and thats only 1 or 2 times a week depending on who else is at home, and even then i have to redial at least once.

Is there a program like getright that will have a better chance of not stuffing up the download?

Posted by Mr. Fury on 11-26-2001 12:35 PM:

Well, getright may not be the reason why your download is corrupted, there is so many different factors.

But I prefer FlashGet, it's effective and yet very simple program.
