If AOL prevents you from downloading ANYTHING, then there is a serious problem there.

You need to contact their technical support and get it fixed because thats pretty unacceptable...even for AOhell.

I agree with Icefire. It's up to AOL to make your connection work, so that you can download files. No offense, but it's not up to us to send you them.

I can download anything that isn't from one of those sites like 3D or CNet.

Have you tried other ISPs Edwin? Do they give you similar problems (indicating a security setup problem on your computer) or do they act normally?

You can use free trial versions of many ISPs simultaneously with your AOL contract, so there is no reason why not to try others.

We have discussed a milion possible soulutions with Edwin... but one possible solution got away...

Edwin check if you have access to Cyber café or Computer center or school or engeneering colleges that alows public acess the internet, when you find one of those check for a fast internet connection , something as fast as DSL, then check if thoses PC's have Zipp drives (100MB of capacity)
Buy yourself a Zipp drive and copy TBP from the Public PC to yours.
it shouldnt take too long with a dsl connection, an hour to get the all the stuff.

Or a cyber cafe computer with a CD burner, just need one CD-W and a CD-ROM drive at home

WinosCentral are reporting that subscribers using AOL 6.0 with Microsoft's new operating system are greeted with a pop-up warning that AOL 6.0 is not compatible with Windows XP and that they must upgrade to AOL version 7.

XP users are able to sign on three times using the old AOL 6.0 software before the online service blocks them from connecting, according to message board postings...
