Cobrabay Question

Can the Cobra bays of B5 hold Thunderbolts? or are those launched from another place on the station?

Yes, Cobra bays can hold Thunderbolts. I'm not sure if we have seen them launching but in several large battles like in Thurdspace, both Auroras and Thunderbolts have been in the same scene after launching, so this indicates that all fighters can be launched from the bays.

Thirdspace happens sowhere between the episodes "into the fire" and "moments of transition".

In the episode "a view from the gallery" a very detailed view of the interior cobrabays can be seen, including tbolts launching.

Third Space occured after the shadow war and before the EA civil war. And from the naration, i think the story was being told sometime after the civil war.

Based upon Zack being fitted for his new uniform and other considerations, etc. Thirdspace can be placed in the year 2261 between the episodes 'The Illusion of Truth' and 'Atonement'.

The cobra bays were upgraded to be able to hold Thunderbolts as part of the upgrade in 'GROPOS', where although Thunderbolts were barely in service they were part of further anticipated upgrades to Babylon 5 before it declared independence from the Earth Alliance.

Triggy I'm not sure on this but I don't think that was par tof the upgrade in gropos. I don't think B5 was going to be getting any T-bolts because the ones they had were what was left over from the churchill and the alexander not being able to hold anymore. I think they probably had to modify the bays before they were stored in there because T-bolts have flown into the main docking bay.

As for them being launched yes they are seen launching in the show. I'm not big on episode names but I know they launched in "No Surrender, No Retreat" and the one in season 5 with Mac and Bo.

I want to fly one now.

Sorry, that was just an assumption as Thunderbolts were new that year. They never actually state that Babylon 5 is capable of carrying Thunderbolts either before or after the upgrade until they actually get some. I don't really know what the actual situation really was

Cobra

It is my understanding that All Starfury models can launch from "Dropbays" due to the fact that the Only real changes to the backside were added Wings for Atmosphere, the Clamps used for drop still fit around fuelsalage. Gropos ep good explain this but I belive they hadnt seen the new ships till a couple eps after (When Bester came to meet sheridan in space). All is hazy thou!

The type the Excalibur used (the drop down 4 ship rail) was made only for the newer....

Thirsdsapce takes place after the Shadow War and before the Civil War, what ep's is anyones guess....

Oh yeah and

THIS MOD RULES!!! Good job
