Making Capships

Is there a tutorial out there for making capships, I'm having problems with the turret objects.

hmm let me gess... they firing 90 off their suposed to and the barrels rotate wrongly in relation to its base.

1-get the barrels to be centered at (0,x,0) referential ,x is any variable you want it to be (height) in truespace.

2- the barrels must be pointing up not to front or back

3-when seting up the POF make sure associated submodel is the base and rotationa submodel is the barrels.

4-when sting up further in POF make sure the base rotates at Z axis and the barrels at X axis, further more fill in prorperties for the base only with this text:

$special=subsystem
$fov=180
$name=GunTurret

You can use Model view32 or Kazans tools for this

turrets

I have the hierarcy working good, and the model in fs2 fine. My only problem now is that the turrets don´t fire. They are there and destroyable, but will not fire. Is there a specific way to make turrets?

Well I have the sentri, thunderbolt, frazi, and skyserpent done.
I am working on capships; sunhawk, vorchan, and battlecrab. I will release them to the public assuming I can get the turrets to work. Now if someone could help me with that........

I know that ppl will hate me for saying this, but I think you should consider joining the team and adding the ships for their next release. You could probably get a whole lot help from the team.

Hehe, I'm not even a member and I'm still trying to convince you, am I stupid or what....

Well the point of me doing this was to give myself and others more stuff to play with before the next release. Besides the ships I have will probably be of less quality than what TBP can produce considering that thier models are built for freespace2, and mine are conversions.

Are they from homeworld? you should probably try to reduce the poly-count just a bit.
