Of course we want it. We want everything!

I'd like to see a laser! It would make a change from just putting Pulse Cannons and missiles on the fighters.

Whee!

Hehe, no-one on the team knows what will be in the next release.
Icefire said that there will be Badger, Thunderbolt, Omega, Excalibur(!), Warlock and Omega-X, and you told us that there won't even be an Omega.

No thats okay.

Right now is probably not the time to give an exact list of the models being included. Until we post officially on this subject (probably much closer to release) take everything you hear with a grain of salt. I told you the ships that we're looking at to give a general impression.

I didn't think everyone (on team and off team) would go so splitting crazy about this detail and that detail and this complaint and that complaint SO EARLY into the second release development process.

Sure everyone is excited, sure I'm excited, but get a grip, take a chill, and let things play out as they need to.

yeah...if they dont take there time it wont be as cool as this one... but I hope they dont take their SWEET time but then again, rushing it would miss little stuff like properly mathced MISSION BRIEFING LOGOS!

hehe.... I dont tire of throwing that back in your faces

seriously though, the logos are super cool... I dont wanna edit the table like someone said to align them properly cuz then TBP campaign briefings wouldnt look right...

There is nothing wrong with the mission briefing icons.

Sorry if it sems like we've all been bitching about what's in the next release when the first has only just been released. Our curiosity has been piqued and we're interested. This doesn't mean that we actually expect the thing to be ready any time soon

hm

Lets hope it doesent take ANOTHER two years for the "next" release..

I would hate to think this mod wouldent be complete before the possible of.. dare a say the idea of FS3 coming back to life.

So I dont wait I make em meself. And I can only hope mine ties over people until the "offical" one is released.

Im uploading it today by the by.. Sorta in a class right now.

When, roughly, will that be?

Posted by IceFire on 10-25-2001 07:17 PM:

When its done. We said that we will not give out any official dates. Several months from now is a good guess.

Has nobody payed any attention? Does anyone know why it took 2 years? We didn't have any modelers for a good year....none that knew anything about FreeSpace 2, AND low poly modeling, AND howto make it all work. Some people did some good work, but it crashed and it generally didn't work with FS2. Which should explain to all of you our general reluctance to look at modelers who just show up with a model or two "done", because it just doesn't work.

Its going to be some months for the team to put in the hard work to make, cleanup, texture, and convert the models that we want. Fortunately the whole mission development process will be quicker, as well as the whole fact that areas like interface and such are already done or nearly done (weapons selection in missions is an area to work on).

So there is less to do than with First Release....but there is time involved in developing what we need and want.

So understand the process, understand the effort, respect the time that is needed. Be happy
