I remember reading about this here, and someone wanted to know why nobody used "that free 3D studio max thing"

Hmm.... apparently GMax can only import/export gmax files (NOT 3ds!), or files for games with specific (paid) plug-in support for it... and V has said somewhere that the fees were too high for them to put support for Red Faction (and obviously, FS).....
