VW Main: Parallax and Bio War sue Interplay, Titus, and Virgin

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A lawsuit has been filed against Interplay Entertainment Corp., British distributor Virgin Interactive and French company Titus Interactive S.A., by BioWare Corp., a Canadian software developer, and Parallax Software Corporation, a software developer based in Champaign, Illinois. The complaint alleges that there are additional royalties due to both BioWare and Parallax.

BioWare is the developer of a number of highly popular and successful award-winning computer games, including Shattered Steel, MDK2 (for the PC, Sega Dreamcast and Sony Playstation 2 platforms), Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and the recently-released Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal. Parallax has developed a number of highly popular and successful award-winning computer games, such as Descent, Descent II, Descent II:The Infinite Abyss and Descent Freespace.


That certainly makes the whole thing significantly more interesting and thankfully Descent: FreeSpace was mentioned. Whats curious is that Parallax is not really in existance anymore, its been Volition and Outrage for several years now. Maybe this is some sort of legal thing I wasn't aware of.
