Intro Movie In Development

KaBoom is working on an intro movie for the mod.

It will be 50 seconds long and be a 30Mb optional downlaod if everything goes to plan, it will have music and sound effects and run at 30 fps full screen like the original.

Here is a sample of the movie in its development stage. How it translates in the end movie we will have to see

Yes it's rendered in lightwave 6.5, and 5.6 on my two computers. The movie is about a battle that takes place during the minbari war. 2 hyperions and some fighters vs. 1 minbari cruiser, guess who wins. It's not a historical battle just one I made for fun.

Cpt. White I assume, since you got the pic, that you got the jumpoint ani I sent. Hope everything worked out.

Uhm... Are we talking about an MVE ?
Our anis are supposed to have 256 colors , I dont know anything about MVE format.
However , the EPIC color depth reducer can reduce an entire image sequence to a 256 color palette

I say : Even IF we have to go for 256 colors you won't see any great differences. The Interface screens of the Demo also have 256 colors which you ABSOLUTELY don't notice .

Thank you darkblade . I know that MVE is the format used by Volition and THEY encode it EXCLUSIVELY.
But I dont know the specifications.

256 color TGA files I believe is the specification. I think it runs at 30fps.

It was actually quite simple to make the damage effects, i just made 2 partigon (particles made with polygon's not hypervoxels) emitters for the particles, and something around 30 lens flares, didn't use particle storm though. Funny thing is that was actually my first try at that scene and my next couple renders looked worse than that one

Another option, is that I could post a smaller divx of the movie which might end up looking better than the mve, although it won't be usable in the game, it will be smaller than dl'ing the mve.
