a stupid question

Once we get the mod, will FRED2 work as normal?

will we simply be able to create B5 missions like we create FS2 missions right now?

or wil FRED2 have old FS2 ships and no B5 ships?

thanks.

Both the FS2 and FRED2 uses the information gathered from .tbl files. So the answer is yes. FRED2 uses B5 ships, but FS2 ships are not there anymore unless you add them back again.

Simply removing the tbl should correct most things back to the freespace 2 original.

we are currently on alpha version 5 of the "main pak" now btw

we have a rough nova , rpeat we have a rough nova in game. its not textured and needs much work but the model is there

FRED and FRED2 are 100% reliant on game assets.

Thanks!!!! I just wanted to be able to make my own B5 missions too

Cptwhite, on the main page the 'ship list' had the Nova as part of the ships fully rdy for the mod. you saying its not textured?

have you figured those turrets out? they were all messed up and would rotate a fire the wrong way.

Posted by Xaphod_x on 08-15-2001 10:53 PM:

well they seem to fire the right way to me, it just looks untextured to me.

Turrets have been fixed. Actually...I think the entire model was reworked from that buggy beginning. Its now very nice looking.
